A family affair…

Custom Interiors of Maine is a family owned and operated business started by Andy Walsh in 1997. Andy sold the business in 2020 and it’s now run by his daughter Sarah and her husband Mark.

Mark has become an expert flooring installer with over 15 years of experience in carpentry and flooring installation. Mark also runs a farm with Sarah and their daughter Adeline at their home in North Yarmouth called Blue Fire Farm.

Sarah grew up helping her father Andy on flooring and staircase installations while working at Fat Andy’s, the lumber mill, and has recently rejoined the family business after working for 8 years as a certified professional dog trainer at PupStart and getting her degree in fine arts from the University of Southern Maine.

Andy still offers his expert advice and installation services to the company while pursuing a degree in forestry from the University of Maine at Orono and enjoying ‘retirement’.

Mark and Sarah work with Carl, a longtime friend and native Mainer. Carl has been with the company since 2019 and specializes in installation, sanding, and refinishing of hardwood floors.

Carl’s nephew Xavier joined our crew this past summer and is eagerly becoming skilled at installing floors and refinishing staircases.
